Dear girls, I have long heavy hair, how do I give it some height, bouffant beehive stylee, without a hairpiece ?
I've tried backcombing & just end up like I've been wrestling with hedge.

my sister used to have this crazy thing that was like synthetic fuzzy wool. It's not a hair piece, it goes under the hair and you just sweep everything else over it. Might work. I have no idea what it was called though so it may not be of the utmost help. I can inform you of the wonder of Tresemme Freeze Hold hairspray. It's like concrete in a can (i hear its made from the tears of robert smith... but thats just a rumour). I mean, my hair is short, but if I hold my hair straight upwards, spray it, wait a couple seconds and let go, it'll just stay there. It's magic. I definately recommend you buy some. Also, (as i feel i have inadequately answered this question) this site is rather informative: www.beautyworlds.com/historybeehive.htmbut i wouldn't recommend reading the last paragraph. Good luck!

Over hair products, we're split. Kate likes the Paul Mitchell super hold hairspray. The others like Elnette. In the gold can. We often fight over this. Sometimes things get hairy.
We think the key is leaving it for a day, backcombing a section, and then pulling the remainder over that.
Failing that, a wig. Go on. Give it a try. Although we're not ones to talk - we don't wear such things...
